Children grow and develop quickly in the first few years. It is important that they have frequent well-child visits, at least once every 6 months until they are 2 years old. After 2 years of age, most doctors recommend children's preventive care screenings occur at least once a year. During these exams, your doctor will take your child's height and weight, assess their physical skills, review social and emotional development, and ask you about different behavioral health tendencies. Your pediatrician will also provide services for screenings, vaccinations and immunizations, hearing tests and vision tests. After your child starts school, these visits can be school physicals or sports physicals.
-
Same day appointments are available for patients with an acute illness. Please call to schedule an appointment. Examples of acute illnesses and infections include, but are not limited to, sore throats, influenza (the flu), cough and/or fever, sinus infections, urinary tract infections (a UTI), or broken bones, sprains or lacerations.
Our providers have a number of appointments reserved for sick visits.

Acute illnesses or infections occur suddenly and have a rapid onset of symptoms. Typically, acute illnesses and infections will resolve quickly, sometimes on their own and at other times needing medical treatment. Examples of acute illnesses and infections include, but are not limited to, sore throats, influenza (the flu), cough and/or fever, sinus infections, urinary tract infections (a UTI), or broken bones, sprains or lacerations.

Chronic health problems during the teen years can often make physical and emotional development more complicated. Adolescent medicine focuses on addressing the health needs of the adolescent's illness, condition, or injury. Adolescent medicine also anticipates and assesses developmental complications associated with the healthcare needs of the specific medical problem. Healthcare providers help adolescents and their families to develop strategies to deal with chronic health issues.
-
It is important to see your primary care provider (PCP) at least once a year for an overall physical. This appointment is about preventive care and helps your doctor find potential health problems before they become a health problem. Preventive care may include immunizations, lab tests, physical exams and prescriptions. During this exam your provider will discuss your overall health, any concerns and perform a comprehensive exam on your entire body.
-
Americans are living longer and living well for longer periods of time. This has created a relatively new and growing area of healthcare and provider services, known as elder care. Elder care encompasses a wide variety of issues, including choosing an appropriate healthcare provider to care for an aging patient, specialty care for chronic disease management and making decisions about moving an elderly person from the home environment to a residential care setting.
-
Sport physicals are often required before participation in recreational or organized sports. During the appointment, a healthcare specialist will evaluate and determine if you are able to safely participate. During this exam strengths and weaknesses will be noted and a recommendation for the appropriate sport(s) may be given.
-
Stay up to date on recommended vaccinations and immunizations. Your provider will discuss the most appropriate protections based on your specific needs and conditions.
Treatments
Your case is unique, which means your treatment will be designed around your needs. We recommend treatments based on evidence based practices, consideration of your specific illness, the results of any tests done, as well as your personal preferences.

Your primary care visit
Your first visit to your primary care provider will be focused on your specific needs and concerns. As your provider gets to know you and your medical history, visits will become even more personalized to your needs. A typical appointment may include:
A review of your medical and family history
Updates to your list of current providers and prescriptions
Height, weight, blood pressure and other routine measurements
Assessment of your cognitive functioning, if applicable
Personalized health advice
A review of risk factors and recommended next steps
A screening schedule (a checklist) for appropriate preventive services
Preventive care and screenings
When you see a primary care provider, you benefit from regular screenings that can detect health problems early on. You also have access to immunizations and other measures that protect your health. Preventive care includes:
Age-specific screenings and tests
Diet and exercise planning
Immunizations, such as flu shots or vaccinations against disease
Testing for specific diseases, such as diabetes and hypertension
Screenings may involve blood tests and other lab work and imaging services like X-rays. Your primary care provider will review your results and follow-up with you. Depending on your results, next steps may involve additional or more frequent testing and specific ways to manage your health, such as lifestyle changes or medications.
Integrated services
Our clinic employs a variety of integrated caregivers to support more than your medical needs. This team includes Care Managers, Behavioral Health providers, nutrition services, clinical pharmacists and more! Ask your primary care provider if any of these caregivers can help support you!
We understand that specialized services can be difficult to access. Our clinic maintains select specialty clinics to address common patient needs. These clinics include Dermatology clinic, joint clinic, addiction services, and coumadin support. Your provider can refer you to these clinics should you need them.
Online access to medical information
After your visit, we’ll provide you access to MyChart, an electronic medical record that allows you to see your health information online whenever you want. You can also schedule appointments, communicate with your doctor and request prescription refills. MyChart makes your healthcare more convenient and gives you easier access to your doctor.
